About Tim Biden and Strategic Changes

I know what it's like when doctors run out of answers... And you run out of hope.
If you've tried everything and you still hurt, you're in the right place.

I Know What Chronic Pain Steals From You. I Lived It.

For 20 years, I dealt with sciatica.

It started around 2000. By 2004, I finally discovered it was stress-induced. A chiropractor who understood nutrition put me on adrenal extracts because my inflamed adrenal gland was impinging my sciatic nerve. It helped. But for two decades, I chased supplements and anti-inflammatories just to keep it manageable.

I know what it's like to wake up and immediately assess: How bad is it today? What can I actually do?

I know the negative emotions that come with chronic pain. The frustration. The fear. The feeling that it'll never end. The isolation you feel when nobody else understands.

And I know what I could have saved myself if someone like me, someone who understood the mind-body connection, had been there earlier to train me on stress relief.

That's why I do this work now.

The Journey I Didn't Expect

In 2011, depression hit me hard. For seven years, I battled it. Some days my wife didn't know if I'd be alive when she got home from teaching. Yes, it was that bad.

I saw three different psychologists. Nothing changed.

Then I tried hypnotherapy.

It worked. Not just surface-level relief. I got real, lasting change in how I looked at life. Better than any supplement I'd tried. And I didn't have to worry about burning out my dopamine receptors.

I was fascinated. I started reading everything I could about hypnotherapy. After about my third book, I started praying: God, why am I even studying this?

The response I felt in my soul was clear: "You have a gift for this." That confused me. Everything I understood about hypnotherapy seemed to contradict my Christian faith. So I prayed again. Same answer. I prayed a third time. Same answer.

Finally, I took it to my wife and asked her to pray about it, to either validate what I was hearing or reject it. After a few days, she came to me and said, "Okay, this hypnosis thing, what's the next step?"

Apparently, it was on.

How I Reconcile Faith and Hypnotherapy

I get it. The word "hypnosis" makes Christians uncomfortable. It brings up images of bad stage shows and the (false) assertion of mind control or unholy influence. I understand the concern.

Here's what I believe: God created our minds with incredible capacity for healing. Hypnotherapy is simply a tool to access that capacity. It's not me controlling you. It's me helping you access the resources God already put inside you.

Neural pathways can be rewritten. Doctors agree with that. Neurologists agree with that. But, they'll tell you it takes 30 days of repetition to form a new habit. I've seen those pathways change almost instantaneously through hypnotherapy. I've watched as people experienced relief faster than their pain pills could kick in.

I believe God gave us everything we need to live healthy lives. I grew up studying natural healing. I still take supplements daily. And I believe God also gave us the ability to use our minds to heal.

In prayer, I once asked God what he created me to be. What is my identity is as His adopted son? The answer I felt was clear: You're a healer. This isn't just a job. It's a calling.

The Moment I Knew This Was Real

Hypnotherapy really works

After getting certified through Omni Hypnosis Training, I offered to help Daniel with his CIPN (chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy). The moment I offered, something welled up inside me. I knew, This is my direction.

But I wasn't prepared for what happened next.

For two years after chemotherapy, Daniel couldn't feel his feet. They felt numb, disconnected. The kind of neuropathy that steals your confidence in your own body.

We did the work. It took about 2 hours.

And then Daniel felt carpet under his feet. Not just reduced pain. Actual sensation. Normal feeling returning to his hands and feet. He was able to turn down his constant pain and turn up the natural sensations in his hands and feet.

I almost didn't believe it. It completely broke my understanding of how the mind and body work together. And it changed my life forever. That's when I knew: this is what God called me to do.

Who I Am

I'm Tim Biden, a Board Certified Hypnotherapist, trained through Omni Hypnosis. I've studied the works of Eva Clark, Igor Ledochowski, Mike Mandell, Stephen Parkhill, Louise Hay, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, Gil Boyne, Jesse E. Gordon, Michael D. Preston, Richard Bandler, Tim Simmerman Sierra, Dr Ryke Geerd Hamer MD and Björn Eybl (Germanic Healing Knowledge), and Dr. Bruce Eimer.

I'm based in Pomona, California, and I work exclusively online through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. This means I can work with chronic pain sufferers anywhere in the United States.

I specialize in Neural Pain Resolution, a process that retrains your nervous system's response to pain signals. I work primarily with people suffering from:

  • CIPN (chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy)

  • Chronic back pain

  • Sciatica

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Other chronic pain conditions where doctors have done all they can do

My practice is called Strategic Changes because that's what hypnotherapy does. It strategically changes specific aspects of your life that aren't working.

What You Should Know About Working With Me

I'm going to be honest with you about what I am and what I'm not. Honesty builds trust, and you've probably been lied to enough by people promising miracle cures.

I'm NOT a doctor.

Tradeoff: Less institutional authority, but more individual attention. I spend 90 minutes to 3 hours with you in a single session. not just the normal 15 minute appointments you get with most doctors. I research your specific condition, your medications, everything relevant to your healing.

I can't guarantee results.

Tradeoff: No empty promises, but genuine commitment to YOUR specific situation. I've seen remarkable changes (like Daniel and Sheryl, who went from housebound to swimming with her special needs son). But I can't promise you'll have their exact experience. What I can promise: I'll give you everything I've got.

I work exclusively online.

Tradeoff: You can work with me from anywhere, but I can't use instant inductions (which I prefer). That's why I schedule 3-hour blocks. It provides more time for actual therapeutic work, not just setup.

I require a physician referral for pain-specific work.

Tradeoff: It adds a step to the process, but it's ethically essential. I need to know your diagnosis, current medications, and that your doctor supports this approach. This isn't bureaucracy. It's a collaboration with your medical team and it gives me more techniques at my disposal. (Note: If we're working purely on emotional trauma that causes pain, I can work without the referral. But the referral opens up more options for addressing pain signals directly.)

Sessions can last up to 3 hours.

Tradeoff: It's a significant time commitment. But percentage-wise, more of that time goes to actual therapeutic work instead of just induction and relaxation. Deep healing requires deep work.

I don't take insurance.

Tradeoff: You pay out of pocket. But you get my full attention without insurance companies dictating your treatment or limiting your sessions. Your privacy is protected. No insurance company access to your session notes.

I operate under a strict Code of Ethics.

Tradeoff: More rules and boundaries, but you know exactly where I stand. I've documented every ethical standard I hold myself to, from requiring physician referrals, to when I'll stop accepting your money, to how I handle confidentiality. Most hypnotherapists don't publish this. I do because transparency builds trust.

Why I Require Physician Referrals (And When I Don't)

Here's the technical truth: I don't always require a medical referral.

If I'm working directly on pain levels, retraining your nervous system to reinterpret pain signals, I need your doctor's recommendation. This tells me your exact situation, lets me research your condition and medications, and ensures we're working ethically alongside your medical care.

If I'm working on the emotional trauma that causes pain (and emotions DO cause pain and the body keeps the score), I can work without approaching pain signals directly. I'm going after the root cause instead.

That said, the physician referral gives me more techniques and more options. It's not a barrier. It's a better toolkit for your healing.

What I Believe That Most Doctors Don't

Doctors will agree that neural pathways can be rewritten. They'll tell you it takes 30 days of consistent effort to create new habits.

I've watched those pathways change almost immediately through hypnotherapy. I've seen people experience relief in a single session that's faster and more profound than medications ever provided.

Chronic pain isn't just physical. Often it's your body keeping score of emotions you haven't processed. Pain is an alert system. Sometimes the problem is that the alert got stuck "on" even after the original issue healed.

We can teach your brain to turn off that false alarm. To filter chronic pain signals the same way it filters the sensation of clothes on your skin.

Your pain is real. But it can also change.

The Vision: Strategic Changes

My vision for the future is to build a team of 5-10 specialized hypnotherapists under Strategic Changes. Each practitioner will have their own focus. They may work with phobias, anxiety, pain management, performance optimization, or something completely different. But we'll all share the same mission: strategically changing lives through hypnotherapy.

This work isn't limiting and it's not just about pain. It's about helping people reclaim every part of life that's been stolen from them.

Two Stories That Show What's Possible

Sheryl's pain relief allows her to do things she couldn't do before.

Sheryl

Sheryl was in constant pain. She couldn't get in the pool to spend time with her special needs son. Now she does. She told me, "This gave me my life back."

Daniel can now feel the carpet and grass under his feet.

Daniel

Due to chemotherapy, Daniel couldn't feel his feet. After our work together, he felt the carpet under his feet for the first time in two years. That's pain reduction AND actual sensation restored.

I can't promise you'll have their exact results. Everyone's different. But I can tell you:
when this work clicks, it's transformational.

Why I Do This

If I wasn't doing hypnotherapy, I'd probably be pursuing naturopathic medicine. I'm fascinated by natural healing. I grew up with those books in my house, studying them as a child.

I believe God gave us everything we need to live healthy lives. Nutrition. Prayer. Supplements. And yes, the ability to retrain our minds and nervous systems.

This is more than a job for me. It's a calling. It's a sense of purpose. It's a service I provide to people who've been suffering too long.

When I see someone get relief, when they feel normal sensations again, or move without wincing, or play with their grandkids, the thrill is almost like jumping out of an airplane. It's that exhilarating.

That's why I do this.

If You're Still Reading...

You're probably wondering if this could work for you.

Honestly? I don't know yet. That's what the application process and discovery call are for.

But if you've exhausted your medical options, if your pain is consistently a 5 or higher, if you're desperate enough to try something radically different, then you might be ready for this.

I'm not for everyone. I'm expensive. I can't guarantee results. I require real commitment.

But if you're serious, if you're willing to do deep work, if you want to reclaim the life chronic pain has stolen from you...

Then let's talk.
